Dortmund reportedly certain of getting Bellingham’s brother from Sunderland

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly certain of getting a deal done to sign Sunderland’s Jobe Bellingham, Afrosport reports.

The 19-year-old brother of Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham was named the Championship Young Player of the Year and was also in the Championship Team of the Season as the Black Cats defeated Shield United in the Championship playoff final, to return to the Premier League after an eight-year absence.

There has been major interest from some of Europe’s top clubs, and according to BBC Sport, Dortmund are reportedly in the lead to acquire the services of the younger Bellingham.

While Dortmund are yet to open talks with Sunderland, it is believed Jobe will follow the path of his brother in signing for the eight-time Bundesliga champions.

The Yellow-Blacks signed the older Bellingham from Birmingham City in 2020 and went on to make 132 appearances for the club, scoring 24 goals and 25 assists before signing for Real Madrid in a blockbuster €133.9 million move in the summer of 2023.

Should Dortmund seal a deal with Jobe before June 10, he could play at the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, where his brother will also be participating.
