Man United boss Amorim handed defensive boost ahead of Forest trip

Arteta declares Saka ready to feature for Arsenal against Fulham

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has been handed a defensive boost ahead of their Premier League trip to Nottingham Forest by declaring Harry Maguire and Leny Yoro are available, Afrosport reports.

Maguire has been out with a calf injury since the beginning of March, missing four competitive games while Yoro has been sidelined with a foot injury and missed United’s last two competitive games.

Amorim also revealed that Luke Shaw, Mason Mount and Kobbie Mainoo are all close to a return.

“Luke [Shaw] is not ready yet. We are starting to do some drills with the team but we are building Luke,” the Portuguese tactician said.

“Mason Mount is feeling better but he was on the bench in the last game, Kobbie [Mainoo] is almost ready, Jonny [Evans] is recovering, [Lisandro Martinez] is out. [Harry] Maguire is also ready to go to the game and [Leny] Yoro, yes.”

Amorim also have an update on the injury of Ayden Heaven after he was stretchered off in the last outing against Leicester City. “It is not so serious. He is recovering. He is not yet ready to play but he will return this season, for sure,” he added.

Amorim went to give his thoughts about Marcus Rashford who has found a new lease of life on loan at Aston Villa.

“We have a lot of games to play and I am focused on my team and my players and Rashford is not my player at the moment,” he stated.

“But every player that performs well on loan is good news for my club so we are happy with that.”

United are currently 13th in the Premier League standings, 20 points clear of the relegation zone and seven points away from the top 10.
