Nigeria’s Super Falcons have maintained their position in the latest FIFA women’s world ranking released on Thursday, Afrosport reports.
The Super Falcons held on to their 36th position to remain the top-rated African side in the world rankings.
The nine-time African champions, led by head coach Justin Madugu, have maintained the position since March 2024.
Meanwhile, South Africa, now 54th in the world, having dropped one spot, as well as Morocco (60th, up 1), Zambia (64th, down 2), and Ghana (65th, up 1), complete the top five on the continent.
Cameroon (66th, up 2), Cote d’Ivoire (71st), Mali (78th, up 3), Senegal (82nd, up 1), and Algeria (83rd, up 1) are the five other nations in the top 10 in Africa.
Tunisia witnessed the biggest decline in the latest ranking, dropping 11 places into 89th in the world to sit 11th in Africa. Equatorial Guinea (90th) and Egypt (100th) both dropped eight places, while Kenya (142nd, up 7) enjoyed the biggest rise.

However, on the international stage, the top four nations—the United States of America, world champions Spain, Germany, and England, respectively—all retained their positions.
Japan now sits fifth after moving three spots up; Sweden (6th), Canada (7th), and Brazil (8th) all dropped one spot; and Korea DPR and the Netherlands make up the top 10.
