Shooting Stars earned a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Enyimba in Aba on Wednesday to stay within reach of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) leaders, Remo Stars, Afrosport reports.
Sodiq Ibrahim put the visitors ahead in the 16th minute, but Awazie Ekene restored parity for the People’s Elephants three minutes before the break.
Despite creating chances in the second-half, neither of the sides were able to find a winner.
Shooting Stars stay second on 42 points, while Enyimba, who have amassed 35 points, are 13th on the log.
Elsewhere, Anas Yusuf netted his 14th goal of the season as Nasarawa United edged leaders Remo Stars 1-0 in Lafia.
Meanwhile, Kano Pillars needed a late penalty from Rabiu Ali to beat Akwa United 1-0 at the Sani Abacha stadium, while Daniel Akanbek and Victor Okoro were on target as Niger Tornadoes defeated Lobi stars 2-0 at their adopted Abubakar Tafawa Balewa stadium in Bauchi.
In other games, reigning champions Enugu Rangers thrashed Sunshine Stars 3-0 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Usman Barau, Joel Odoh and Kingsley Maduforo were the goal scorers for the Flying Antelopes.
Abia Warriors forced Kwara United to a 0-0 draw in Ilorin, El-Kanemi Warriors also earned a point at the Dan Anyiam stadium in Owerri after forcing Heartland to a goalless draw, while Plateau United pipped Bayelsa United 1-0 at the New Jos stadium.
