The draw for the 2025 President Federation Cup will be held on Wednesday, 12 March in Abuja, Afrosport reports.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed the development on Monday, adding that the draw will come up after the national play-offs in the men’s and women’s categories on 5 March.
Cup holders El-Kanemi Warriors, former winners Lobi Stars, Bendel Insurance, Enugu Rangers, Shooting Stars, Heartland, Akwa United and Kano Pillars all qualified from the state event, which was wrapped up over the weekend.
One of the notable absentees at this year’s event is four-time winners Enyimba, who were beaten on penalties by Ahudiyannem FC in the Abia state FA Cup final.
After the national play-offs, a total of 64 teams will emerge for the draw in Abuja, where teams will find out their opponents and match venue.
The eventual champions will represent Nigeria at next year’s CAF Confederation Cup.
El-Kanemi Warriors won the competition in 2024 after beating Abia Warriors 2-0 in the final at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos, while Rivers Angels clinched the female title with a 1-0 win at the expense of Naija Ratels.
