Remo Stars tightened their grip at the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) with a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Kwara United in Ikenne on Thursday, Afrosport reports.
Samuel Anakwe drew the first blood 11 minutes from time when he headed in a spilled ball from Nduka Junior’s free kick.
Substitute Hadi Haruna then sealed maximum points with a second goal deep into stoppage time for Daniel Ogunmodede’s men.

The Sky Blue Stars sit at the top of the standings with 51 points from 25 games, 10 points ahead of second-placed Shooting Stars, who were held to a 2-2 draw by Lobi Stars on Wednesday in Ibadan.
In Thursday’s other fixture, Katsina United defeated nine-time champions Enyimba 2-1 at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium.
Bello Lukman scored a brace for the hosts, while Enyimba got their consolation goal through former Remo Stars man Ekene Awazie.
The result moved Katsina United in 13th position with 33 points, while Enyimba are two spots ahead with 34 points after 25 games.
