Nigeria’s under-20 men’s team, the Flying Eagles, will no longer play Egypt in their scheduled international friendly, Afrosport reports.
The two African powerhouses were billed to face off in a friendly later this month in Cairo with the games set for 25 and 27 February.
The friendly, however, has been cancelled as both countries were drawn in the same group in the U20 Africa Cup of Nations finals.
The draw for the U20 AFCON was held at the headquarters of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in Cairo on Thursday.
The Flying Eagles will also navigate South Africa and Morocco in Group B.
The U20 AFCON will take place in Côte d’Ivoire from Saturday, 26 April to Sunday, 18 May.
