Serhou Guirassy set a new European record for Borussia Dortmund after scoring a goal providing an assist in the 3-0 win over Sporting Lisbon in the UEFA Champions League knockout phase playoffs on Tuesday night, Afrosport reports.
The Guinea forward put last season’s Champions League runners-up on the hour mark before assisting former Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Pascal Gross for the second goal.
The goal and assist of Guirassy took him to 10 goals and three assists in Europe’s premier club competition this term, making him the Dortmund player to have such figures in a single season.
Overall, he has scored 19 goals and provided six assists in 28 matches in all competitions since he joined Dortmund from Stuttgart last summer.
