Brentford boss Thomas Frank empathises with Postecoglou over Tottenham struggles

Amorim acknowledges Garnacho improvement since Manchester Derby axe

Brentford manager Thomas’s Frank has empathised witty Ange Postecoglou over Tottenham Hotspur’s recent struggle for form in the Premier League, Afrosport reports.

Spurs have been unable to get consistent results in the top flight for some time with just one win in their last 11 games (D2 L8) which has seen them drop to 15th on the log, eight points shy of the relegation zone.

Injuries to a number of multiple players has been a key reason for this, a similar situation which Frank knows too well with Brentford during the 2023-24 season when they spent time avoiding the drop and ultimately finished 16th.

Postecoglou has been constantly questioned for not altering his playing style to navigate the injury crisis but Frank has backed the Australian to stick to his guns.

“We were also hit very hard by injuries last year so, from that perspective, I understand the situation Ange [Postecoglou] is in now at Tottenham,” Frank said ahead of hosting Spurs at the Gtech Community Stadium on Sunday.

“When results are also not going your way, that’s tough. They’re things we need to deal with as managers and I’m convinced that Ange is doing that well and he will get through it.

“He doesn’t need advice, but he just needs to trust his own processes and trust what he believes in, which he does – that’s the main thing.”

Brentford are currently in 11th place on the table, seven points ahead of Tottenham.
