Liverpool manager Arne Slot says he is not surprised by interest in the Saudi Pro League for Mohamed Salah, Afrosport reports.
The 32-year-old Egyptian superstar has been constantly linked with a move to the lucrative Middle East top flight since he had a year left to run left on his contract last summer.
Salah now has six months left and the speculation has only grown stronger as he is a loggerheads with Liverpool over a new deal.
Slot acknowledges it is natural clubs will be interested in Salah especially as he has put in incredible numbers this season.
“I would be surprised if there was anyone around the world saying ‘we don’t want Mo Salah’,” Slot said ahead of Liverpool’s trip to the Bournemouth on Saturday.
“He is doing so well for so many years that probably everyone wants him. He has done so well without my advice for a long time so he can probably keep doing what is best for his career even without my advice. But my advice to him would be different than the one you mentioned [Saudi League].
“Everyone wants him, including us. We want to extend as well. That is clear. I am not surprised Saudi wants him but I wouldn’t be surprised if every other country wants him as well.”
