Remo Stars fought back from two goals down to beat Abia Warriors 3-2 in Ikenne on Wednesday in a Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday 21 clash, Afrosport reports.
Remo went into the game fresh from beating Akwa United 2-1 in Uyo, but the NPFL Leaders got off to an unusual start as Ayodele Ezekiel and Antoine Ijeoma fired the Imama Amapakabo-led Abia Warriors ahead with goals in the 25th and 26th minutes.
The Sky Blue stars, who also came from behind to beat Akwa United on Sunday, however, began the comeback through midfielder Olamilekan Adedayo in the 38th minute.
The home side drew level just before half-time through substitute Malik Jabbar, and the comeback was completed in the 54th minute when Franck Mawuena rose highest in the box to head home Michael Tochukwu’s cross.
Remo Stars have now amassed 42 points from 21 games to remain atop the standings as they continue the chase for their first ever NPFL title.

Meanwhile, Shooting Stars climbed into second place on the log with a 2-0 victory against Nasarawa United in Ibadan, with Tijani Kabir and Sadiq Ibrahim on the scoresheet for the Oluyole Warriors.
Elsewhere, Ikorodu City completed a 4-1 rout of visiting Kano Pillars In Lagos to move itto fifth on the table.
Goals from Shola Adelani, Austin Harrison, and Ayomide Cole as well as Rabiu Ali’s 54th minute own goal all contributed to Pillars’ downfall at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, while Abba Adam’s third goal in two games for the Northerners, proved to be a mere consolation.
In other games, Lobi Stars forced Akwa United to a 1-1 draw in Uyo, El-Kanemi Warriors beat champions Enugu Rangers 2-1, while Bayelsa United thrashed Sunshine Stars 4-1.
