The Super Eagles will begin their hunt for a fourth continental title with their opening game against the Taifa Stars of Tanzania on Tuesday, 23 December 2025.
The two nations will be meeting for the second time at the AFCON finals, with their only previous encounter finishing in a 3-1 win for Nigeria at the 1980 edition of the tournament.
Eric Chelle’s men will then take on Tunisia’s Carthage Eagles in their second group game on 27 December in a rematch of their round of 16 clash at AFCON 2021, which the North Africans won 1-0.
The Super Eagles final group game is slated for 30 December against the Cranes of Uganda, an opponent they last met at the AFCON 1978 semi-finals in Ghana.
The top two teams from the six groups will automatically progress to the knockout phase, where they will be joined by the four best third-placed teams.
The final of the 35th edition of the AFCON will, however, be played at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Morocco’s capital city of Rabat on 18 January 2026.
