Alexander Isak scored a brace as Newcastle United recorded a 3-1 win over Premier League bottom club Southampton at St. Mary’s on Saturday afternoon, Afrosport reports.
After falling behind to Jan Bednarek’s 10th minute goal, the Magpies responded through Isak, first from the penalty spot in the 26th minute before he was assisted by Jacob Murphy for the second four minutes later.
It took the 25-year-old to 48 goals in the Premier League since he joined from Real Sociedad two-and-a-half years ago, making him the joint-highest Swedish scorer in the top flight with former Arsenal forward Freddie Ljunberg.
