Victor Osimhen has called on Galatasaray to maintain focus following their 1-1 draw with Hatayspor in the Turkish Super Lig on Friday, Afrosport reports.
The Nigerian forward levelled for the Istanbul giants from the penalty spot in the 56th minute after Cemali Sertel put Hatayspor in front in the 28th minute.
Baris Yilmaz had the chance to make it 2-1 for Galatasaray in the 79th minute but his effort was ruled out for offside by VAR.
Osimhen thanked his team for their support in letting him settle in since joining on loan from Napoli last summer and wants them to continue to push towards the season objectives.
“These matches are difficult. We need to maintain our focus. We need to take advantage of every opportunity. We missed many opportunities. We will try to do better by learning from our mistakes,” the Super Eagles forward said per the club website.
“When I came to the team, my friends welcomed me very well. They helped me in every way. My coach was always with me. He showed me confidence. My teammates showed the same.
“Thanks to this, it was easy to adapt. I am focused on the team right now. We have certain goals for the season. We are taking firm steps towards these goals. We continue to fight. I believe we will achieve great things.”

Osimhen went on to downplay the notion that fatigue has set in the team which led to Friday’s draw.
“I don’t think there is fatigue in the team. This is our job. It’s not just the 11 players. The guys on the bench are always ready,” he added.
“I think it’s normal to have two games during the week and two at the weekend. I’m always ready and I always want to play for my team. We’ll look at this game and see our mistakes. We’ll learn from them and try to do better.”
Galatasaray remain unbeaten in the Turkish Super Lig and are nine points ahead of Fenerbahce. They will next face Dynamo Kyiv in the Europa League.
