Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has brought Christmas joy to Canning Town in East London by distributing free food to struggling families through his initiative, ‘AleXpress’, Afrosport reports.
This event was part of Project 17, aimed at supporting struggling individuals in need during the festive season. The beneficiaries include 100 families who received food items, including turkeys.
Iwobi gives credit to his parents for instilling the spirit of giving in him as the inspiration behind the project, noting his father’s habit of helping others and his mother’s supportive attitude.
The former Arsenal mn expressed his desire to give back, stating: “With the position I am in, I feel like it’s only right with the influence I have that I give back.”
He emphasised the importance of helping those who are less fortunate, particularlly during the holiday/festive season.
