Premier League: Amad stars in Manchester Derby as Chelsea close gap to the top

Amad Diallo was the star of the show as Manchester United recorded a comeback 2-1 win over rivals Manchester City in Sunday’s Premier League derby at the Etihad Stadium, Afrosport reports.

Josko Guardiol gave the Citizens the lead in the first half with a header which they were able to hold and potentially claim all three points up until the 87th minute when a Matheus Nunes error gave Amad a chance to capitalise on before another error caused the penalty.

Bruno Fernandes converted and two minutes later an incredible pass from Lisandro Martinez set up Amad again with a chance in space as he went past Ederson to slot it in beautifully and win it for United as City’s nightmare continues.

Meanwhile Chelsea defeated fellow London side Brentford 2-1 at Stamford Bridge. Marc Cucurella put his side up in the first half before Nicolas Jackson doubled the lead late into the second half. Bryan Mbeumo pulled one back for Brentford before Cucurella got sent off in the final moments of the game

At St. Mary’s, Tottenham Hotspur cruised to a 5-0 with Southampton. All goals were scored in the first half with a James Madison brace, Heung-Min Son, Dejan Kukuveski and Pape Matar Sarr all marking their names on the scoresheet.

Brighton & Hove Albion lost 3-1 at home to Crystal Palace, an Ismail Sarr brace and a Trevoh Chalobah effort while the Seagulls only goal came from a Marc Guehi own goal.
