Ademola Lookman found the back of the net as Atalanta defeated AC Milan 2-1 in Friday night Serie A action, Afrosport reports.
La Dea have been in top form this season and wasted on time in going ahead in front of home supporters at Gewiss Stadium courtesy of Charles De Ketelaere in the 12th minute.
Alvaro Morata levelled for the Rossoneri 10 minutes later and it remained 1-1 until the 87th minute when African Footballer of the Year nominee Lookman popped up with the winner.
It was the Nigeria international’s eight league goal of the season and his 10th in all competitions coupled with five assists, four of them in the Serie A.
Speaking after the game per Football Italia, Lookman said: “It’s a very important game against a very strong team that is doing well in the League. We performed well tonight, three big points and we continue like this.
“I think we just continue to play the way we play, match by match. We believe in ourselves as a team, so we continue like this and stay together.”

The result was Atalanta’s ninth straight league win, equalling the record they set between February and July 2020.
They have also temporarily gone one point clear at the top of the table and will host reigning Uefa Champions League holders Real Madrid next Tuesday in a rematch of the 2024 UEFA Super Cup back in August.
