Chelsea’s Tyrique George nominated for Premier League 2 POTM award

Chelsea winger of Nigerian descent Tyrique George is up for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for November, Afrosport reports.

George was fantastic for Chelsea in the month under review in Premier League 2 under head coach Filipe Coelho, providing an assist in their 2-1 win in the London derby against Arsenal at Kingsmeadow.

The 18-year-old had another assist as the Blues defeated Derby County 6-2, as Chelsea won their two League 2 games in November.

George’s fine performances earned him a spot in Chelsea’s senior team under Enzo Maresca, making two appearances in the UEFA Conference League—a 2-0 victory against Heidenheim and an 8-0 win over Noah at Stamford Bridge.

George will battle Sunderland’s Trey Ogunsuyi, Jeremiah Umolu (Crystal Palace), Callum Osmad (Fulham), Yusuf Akhamrich (Tottenham Hotspur), Kerian Morisson (Liverpool), and Nottingham Forest’s duo Joe Gardener and Mad Jack Perkins for the Premier League 2 award.
