Tennis: Italy to host Davis Cup Final 8 from 2025

Italy will host the Davis Cup Finals from 2025 to 2027, the International Tennis Federation announced on Monday.

Italy, back-to-back Davis Cup champions, won the eight-team men’s event, dubbed the “Final 8”, after beating Spain last month.

“We are delighted to partner with the FITP [Italian tennis federation] for the Davis Cup Final 8,” David Haggerty, ITF President, said. “Italy has a rich history in tennis and a proven ability to host world-class sporting events.

“We would like to thank Malaga and Andalusia, as well as Tennium and ITF member nation the Real Federación Española de Tenis (RFET) for being such great partners in helping us to elevate the event to new heights these past three years. We are confident that over the next three years working with the FITP we can take the Davis Cup even higher, providing an unforgettable experience for players and fans alike.”

Angelo Binaghi, president of the FITP, said: “We are thrilled to have been selected as hosts and look forward to welcoming the best teams in the world to our country next November and for the next three years.”

The last three editions of the Davis Cup Final 8 has been hosted by the Andalusian city of Malaga since 2022.

The 2025 Final 8, however, will be held in Bologna, Italy.
