Joseph Paintsil scored a brace as LA Galaxy defeated Minnesota United 6-2 on Sunday to reach the final of the MLS Western Conference playoffs, Afrosport reports.
The Five-time MLS Cup champions wasted no time in getting things running against Minnesota as well they raced to a 2-1 lead in the opening 18 minutes before Ghanaian Paintsil made it 3-1 seven minutes to the end of the first half.
Ghanaian-born Italian Kelvin Yeboah however halved the deficit from the penalty spot for Minnesota in added time having scored earlier in the sixth minute.
The Galaxy still had more goals in the tank and scored courtesy of Gabriel Pec, Dejan Joveljic and Paintsil, who took his tally to 13 goals and 10 assists in 32 MLS appearances this season.

Pec had the chance to score from the penalty spot but his effort was saved by Minnesota goalkeeper Dayne St.Clair.
The Galaxy will now face the Seattle Sounders on Saturday in the Western Conference final for a chance to make their 10th MLS Cup appearance.
The Eastern Conference final will see Orlando City tackle New York Red Bulls.
