Head coach of Benin Republic, Gernot Rohr, has called upon 26 players for this month’s action in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Libya, Afrosport reports.
The German, who was in charge of the Super Eagles over a five-year period, is looking to avenge the 3-0 loss they suffered at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in September and has named a strong squad to do the job.
Rohr has invited regulars like captain Steve Mounie, Jodel Doussou, midfielders Sessi D’Almeida and Junior Olaitan, defenders Olivier Verdon and David Kiki, as well as first-choice goalkeeper Marcel Dandjinou.
Meanwhile, ever-reliable centre-back Mohamed Tijani, who missed the return fixture in Nigeria due to injury, makes a return to the team, as goalkeeper Serge Obassa Adebiyi, who plies his trade with Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Remo Stars, also got the nod.

The Cheetahs will take on the Super Eagles at the Stade Felix Houphouet Boigny in Abidjan on Thursday, November 14, before heading to Tripoli to tackle the embattled Mediterranean Knights of Libya at the 11 June Stadium four days later.
Benin with six points sits behind Group D leaders, the Super Eagles, in the standings, and they have Rwanda breathing down their neck with five points, while Libya remain bottom with a point.
