Vladimir Petkovic, head coach of Algeria’s Dessert Warriors, has trusted 26 players to do the job when they take on Equatorial Guinea and Liberia in the final two matches in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, Afrosport reports.

The 61-year-old Bosnian, who took over the Dessert Warriors in February, has named a star-studded list of players, which include team captain and Al Ahli winger Riyad Mahrez, Wolves marauding wing-back Rayan Ait-Nouri, Lyon’s Said Benrahma, and Qatar-based forward Baghdad Bounedjaah,

Other notable names in the squad are Borussia Dortmund defender Ramy Bensebaini, Rennes forward Amine Gouiri, Youcef Atal, and combative Lille defender Aissa Mandi.

The Desert Warriors, who have already qualified for next year’s finals in Morocco, will take on the Nzalang Nacional of Equatorial Guinea on Thursday, November 14, at Estadio de Malabo, before locking horns with Liberia’s Lone Stars three days later at Hocine Ait Ahmed Stadium.

Algeria is atop Group E standings with 12 points from a possible 12. Equatorial Guinea is in second with five fewer points, while Togo and Liberia are in third and fourth spots, respectively.
