Former world number three and Grand Slam champion, Elena Rybakina, has appointed Goran Ivanisevic as her coach from 2025, Afrosport reports.
Rybakina is one a one time grand slam champion back in 2022, a feat she accomplished with her current coach, Stefano Vukov.
The Kazakhstani tennis player now seems to be moving on in terms of coaches as she now appoints a new coach to begin the new season with.
Ivanisevic himself is a former Grand Slam champion and also coached Novak Djokovic for six years and he helped him win half of all his major titles.
“I think he’s a great champion and he has so much experience,” Rybakina said per BBC Sport.
“I’m really looking forward to start. It’s something new for me. I’ve been with one coach for a long time. I want to learn.
“I’m really happy and we will see what we can do together.”
Rybakina enjoyed a strong start to the season, capturing three titles in just four months. However, her momentum was halted by a shocking semi-final loss to eventual champion Barbora Krejcikova at Wimbledon.
She is now gearing up for the season-ending WTA Finals in Saudi Arabia, where the top eight singles players with the most ranking points will compete.
She will begin her campaign against Jasmine Paolini in her first pool match on Saturday.
