Manchester United have confirmed the appointment of former Portugal international Ruben Amorim as new head coach, Afrosport reports.
The 13-time Premier League winners announced the appointment of the 39-year-old on Friday, just days after the sacking of Dutch manager Erik ten Hag.
Amorim has signed a three-year contract with the Red Devils until 2027, with a club option for another year, and the deal subject to work visa requirements.
According to United, the Portuguese will begin fully at Old Trafford on Monday, November 11, “once he has fulfilled his obligations to his current club”.
It’s done.

Amorim has enjoyed immense success in Portugal as both player and coach, including winning titles as manager of both Braga and Sporting.
He led Braga to triumph in the Taça da Liga in the 2019-20 season before winning the Primeira Liga twice with Sporting, including leading the Lisbon club to its first league title in 19 years.
Amorim also led Sporting to two Taça da Liga titles and one Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira victory when they beat his former side Braga in 2021.
The former midfielder is one of the most revered and highly rated young coaches in Europe at the moment and will remain with Sporting until November 10, where he will oversee three games against Estrela Amadora (Friday, Nov. 1), Manchester City (Nov. 5), and Braga (Nov. 10).
Meanwhile, United revealed that interim coach Ruud van Nistelrooy will remain in charge until Amorim’s arrival, with the Dutchman set to lead the team in their games against Chelsea, PAOK, and Leicester City, respectively.
