As part of a move to help families affected by the flash floods in Spain which have claimed the lives of about 158 people, La Liga and its clubs have decided to help raise funds for the Red Cross, Afrosport reports.
All parties have agreed to publicise a campaign during match broadcasts this weekend and through their respective social media accounts.
“Spain’s professional football joins the condolences and expresses its solidarity with the families of the victims and the missing,” LaLiga said in a statement on Thursday.
Meanwhile, reigning La Liga champions Real Madrid announced that they would cooperate with the Red Cross to support people affected by the floods and donate one million euros.
