Sporting manager Ruben Amorim has provided some clarity as regards his imminent move to Premier League club Manchester United, Afrosport reports.
The 39-year-old is the frontrunner to become the new boss at Old Trafford following the sacking of Dutch manager Erik ten Hag on Monday.
The 13-time Premier League champions have reportedly agreed to pay Amorim’s €10 million release clause, Sporting revealed on Tuesday.
With United fans eagerly waiting for a confirmation on the appointment of Amorim as new manager, the former Portugal international said on Thursday that although the deal is not an easy one, he expects clarification latest Friday.
“It’s a negotiation between two clubs. It is never easy even with the clauses; it’s never easy as they have to talk,” the Sporting boss told reporters during his pre-match conference.
“We will have clarification after the game [against Estrela da Amadora]. It will be very clear, so it’s one more day after the game tomorrow [Friday]. We will have the decision made.”
When asked about what he liked about the Premier League, the Portuguese replied “everything”.

United and Sporting continue talks over Amorim, with reports suggesting he is to be joined by at least three of his assistant coaches and could make the move to England just before November’s international break.
Liga Portugal leaders Sporting hosts 16th-placed Estrela da Amadora at the Estadio Jose Alvalade on Friday night, and United fans will be patiently waiting for his post-match presser.
