Sevilla manager Garcia Pimienta hopes to see Kelechi Iheanacho improve after his performance in Wednesday’s Copa del Rey first round tie against La Rozas, Afrosport reports.
The Nigerian forward made the starting line up after being an unused substitute in the Andalusian’s last two games.
He however made his start count as he scored a second half brace for his first set of goals for the club, with the game ending 3-0, which was pleasing to Pimienta.
“He played very little in the first half, and in the second he had the success that is needed for the forwards,” Pimienta said per Tribal Football.
“He’s training well; he’s played 90 minutes; we’re happy with his double and we’ll continue to improve.”
Iheanacho reacting to his performance per El Sevillista said: “Very good, I’m very happy to have scored my first goals for this club. It’s very good for my confidence and that of the team, which hopefully will finish in the top six.”

Sevilla’s next match will be against Real Sociedad in La Liga at the Sanchez Pizjuan on Sunday and Iheanacho is targeting all three points.
“I hope we win. We really want to win at the Sanchez-Pizjuan and the support of the fans will be important,” he concluded.
Pimienta’s side are 10th on the La Liga table with 15 points after 11 games.
