The Ogun State government has assured that facilities for the National Sports Festival (NSF) coming up in the Gateway State in January 2025 will be ready before the end of December 2024, Afrosport reports.

The Commissioner for Sports Development in the state, Wasiu Isiaka on Tuesday confirmed in an interview that measures are being put in place to ensure that the MKO Abiola Stadium in Kuto and Alake Sports Centre in Ijeja, which are currently undergoing renovations will be completed on time for the games.

“The Games are between January 12 and 26, and I can assure you that latest by midway through December, everything needed for the event will be ready on time,” Isiaka said.

He added that four tennis courts and one Olympic size swimming pool are part of the new facilities currently under construction.

Likewise, the tartan track has been completely removed to accommodate another layer, while the football pitch has also undergone same process.

The MKO Abiola stadium, Alake Sports Centre, Gateway Stadium (Sagamu), and the Remo Stars sports complex in Ikenne are part of the facilities that will host the forthcoming Gateway Games 2024.
