D’Tigress star Ezinne Kalu leaves WNBA for China’s Zhejiang Golden Bulls

D’Tigress guard, Ezinne Kalu, has signed with China’s Zhejiang Golden Bulls following a brief stint in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA).

The 32-year-old had a brief stint with the Atlanta Dream having signed a seven-day hardship contract, which allows teams to temporarily replace injured or ill players.

Kalu, however, has now secured a move to China and she made the announcement on her official X account, as she expressed her delight for this new chapter in her career.

“Hi everyone, after a very long trip, I have finally made it to China safely! I can’t believe this will be my new home for the next few months,” she wrote.

“After I unpack and settle in properly, I’ll update you all on games, schedules, etc. Thank you all for your continued support.”

The Nigerian played two games for the Dream last season, averaging 3.5 points, 1.0 assist, and 1.0 steal per game.

She was officially added to the Zhejiang roster for the 2024/25 season on October 2.

Kalu was a shining light for the D’Tigress at the Paris 2024 Olympics, where she led the team to a historic quarterfinals berth, which gained her a spot on the All-Olympic second team.
