Nigeria’s U20 men’s football team, the Flying Eagles, will depart for Togo on Tuesday, October 15, to participate in the WAFU B U20 Championship, Afrosport reports.
Led by head coach Aliyu Zubairu, the Flying Eagles, have been ramping up their preparations at Remo Stars’ training facility in Ikenne.
Zubairu has reportedly submitted his final 20-man squad ahead of the tournament, where the Flying Eagles will look to defend their title.
Nigeria is set to kick off their campaign against Burkina Faso on October 18, followed by a clash with Cote d’Ivoire on October 24 in Group B.
Meanwhile, Group A comprises hosts Togo, Niger, Ghana, and Benin.
The two finalists from the tournament will secure a spot in the 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations scheduled for January in South Africa.
