AFCON 2025 Qualifiers: Libya names 28-man squad for Super Eagles matches

Nasser Al-Hadiri, head coach of Libya’s Mediterranean Knights, has called upon 28 players to face the Super Eagles of Nigeria ahead of next month’s double-header in the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Al-Hadiri, who recently replaced Milutin Sredojević after the Serban coach was dismissed, named regulars like Spain-based Ahmed Al-Masmari, Al-Ittihad’s Abdul-Miser Abu Shaibab, and Mohammed Al-Tabbal to his side.

The Mediterranean Knights, currently bottom of Group D with one point after two matches, have it all to do against the Super Eagles, who they will face twice within four days, with the three-time African champions currently atop the group standings with four points.

The first of their two encounters will hold at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, on October 11, while the second leg heads to Benina, where they will host Nigeria at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium on Tuesday, October 15.
