2026 World Cup Qualifiers: Nigeria land in pot one for CAF draw

Libya has changed the venue for their matchday four clash in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Nigeria.

The Mediterranean Knights will now face the Super Eagles at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium in Benina, which is located at about 19 kilometres away from the city of Benghazi.

The 10,000-capacity stadium, which has an artificial turf, will host the second game of the double-header between the two nations slated to hold on Tuesday, October 15, at 8 p.m. Nigerian Time.

The Super Eagles will host Libya on matchday three at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, five days prior on Friday, October 11, at 5 p.m. local time.

The Mediterranean Knights sit bottom of Group D with just a point after two matches, following a 1-1 at home to Rwanda – a game that was played at the Tripoli International Stadium, and a 2-1 defeat to the Cheetahs of Benin Republic in Abidjan.

Meanwhile, Nigeria, who are group leaders, have four points from their opening two games, after a resounding 3-0 victory over Benin Republic in Uyo and a goalless stalemate in Kigali against Rwanda’s Amavubi.
