Three Ghana coaches, including head coach Otto Addo, are in a stable condition after being involved in a car crash on Monday.
Addo, who is in his second spell as Black Stars coach, and his assistant John Paintsil as well as goalkeeping coach Fatawu Dauda were heading back from a scouting mission at a club game between FC Samartex 1996 and Nsoatreman FC in Ghana when their vehicle was involved in an accident.
The said vehicle got damaged after they avoided a head-on collision with another truck that veered into their lane.
A statement was released by the Ghanaian Football Association regarding the incident. It read: “The team had been on an official assignment, observing the Champion of Champions clash between FC Samartex 1996 and Nsoatreman FC.
“We are happy to report that all three members of the technical team are in stable condition and will undergo further medical assessments, as a precautionary measure, upon their return to Accra.”
It is left to see whether the three coaches will be in the perfect condition to be on the sidelines for their upcoming matches in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. However, the Ghana FA are confident Addo and his assistants will take charge of the Black Stars’ games against Angola and Niger on Thursday and Monday respectively.
