Mohamed Salah hints at Liverpool exit after emphatic win over Man Utd

Liverpool forward Mohamed has hinted at a possible exit at the end of the season following the Reds’ 3-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Egypt international, who joined Liverpool in 2017 from Roma, said this could possibly be his “last year” at the club, with his current contract expiring at the end of the season.

Following a breathtaking performance, which saw the 32-year-old register a goal and two assists against their rivals, he said:

“I had a good summer and had a long time to myself to try to stay positive.

“As you know, it’s my last year at the club.

“I just want to enjoy it, and I don’t want to think about it. I feel like I’m free to play football and then we’ll see what happens next year.”

Salah, who took his season tally to three goals and three assists, has registered ten goals at Old Trafford. The Egyptian provided Luis Diaz’s brace before getting on the scoresheet with his side’s third goal.

“Coming into the game, I said it could be the last time [I play here with Liverpool],” he continued while talking to Sky Sports after the match.

“No-one at the club has spoken to me about contracts, so I’m just like: ‘OK, I’m playing my last season’ and see what happens at the end of the season.

“It’s not up to me, but nobody’s talked to me from the club. We will see.”

Salah has scored over 200 goals for Liverpool, and since joining the club seven years ago, he has led the Reds to multiple titles, including winning their first Premier League title in 2019-20 as well as the Champions League and Club World Cup.
