Lloyd Harris was knocked out of the 2024 Wimbledon second round after his five-set 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 6-7 (7-10) loss to American Ben Shelton.
The 27-year-old South African started the match brightly by taking the first set in just 30 minutes after breaking Shelton in the third game.
The second set was much tougher with both players holding their serves which forced a tiebreak and was won 7-5 by Shelton.
The third set followed the same pattern but it was Lloyd Harris who took the honour of winning the tiebreak 7-5 before falling in the sixth game of the fourth set which he lost 6-3.

The fifth and deciding set was another hold of serve by both men but Shelton came out on top in the tiebreak 10-7, winning the match after three hours and 49 minutes.
Twenty-one-year Shelton will get to face Canadian Denis Shapovalov in the third round.
