Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is eyeing a top six finish in the Premier League as the Blues face Bournemouth at home on the final day of the season on Sunday.
The West London outfit have seen a resurgence in form, winning each of their last four games that propelled them up to sixth place on the table which is a Europa League qualification spot.
This is a massive change in fortunes for Chelsea having been in the bottom half of the table for much of the season and Pochettino has explained why it is important for the men in blue to finish on a high.
“It’s really important to finish in the way that we are doing now and I think with confidence and way we were playing in last few months,” the Argentine tactician said in a press conference.
“It is really important for team, for the players, for the club to be close to achieving one of our objectives – to play in Europe next season.
“I think the most important now is continuing to perform try to be sure we are going to compete in best way. It’s going to be a really tough game because Bournemouth are doing so well.
“Andoni Iraola is doing a good job but most important [for us] is to finish well and see if we have the chance to get the place [in Europe].”
