Getafe President Angel Torres has revealed that Manchester United want to put Mason Greenwood up for sale this summer.
The 22-year-old joined the Azulones on loan on Deadline Day of last summer’s transfer window following United’s internal investigation into claims of sexual assault against his girlfriend.
Greenwood has impressed in his return to active football after being frozen out for more than a year due to legal proceedings against him that were ultimately dropped, scoring 10 goals and providing six assists in 32 games in all competitions.
Torres however hopes that Getafe can have Greenwood for another season.

“If it was up to the lad, his parents and the club, I think he would continue for another year,” Torres told Radio Marca.
“Regarding Manchester United, the news that we have from last week, where the sporting director went to England to see some games and was with them, is that, if a good offer comes along, they would want to sell because he is not going to go back there.
“We’ll have to wait until the end of June. The people and the coach are very happy with him.
“I think he will remain with us for another season, or at least until January. He is a good footballer.”
Getafe sit in 10th spot in La Liga after 34 games with 43 points. They are 11 points away from the European qualification places and 17 points clear of the relegation zone.
