Saudi Arabia fightcard to deteremine Ngannou’s opponent for PFL debut

Cameroon fighter Francis Ngannou will make his long-awaited debut in the Professional Fighters League against the winner of the heavyweight clash between Renan Ferreira and Ryan Bader.

PFL heavyweight champion Ferreira will face Bellator champions Bader in a blockbuster fightcard that will take place Saudi Arabian city of Riyadh on Saturday, February 24.

While the world awaits the winner of Ferreira and Bader fight, Ngannou’s debut is expected to be in the second half of 2024.

The historic fightcard in Saudi Arabia will have Ngannou in attendance and it will be the first time fighters from two MMA franchises will feature in a single card.

Ngannou joined the PFL in May 2023 following his departure from Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) at the end of his contract.

The Cameroon star is gradually making a name for himself in boxing and he is gearing up for a fight against Anthony Joshua on March 8, after making his boxing debut against Tyson Fury in October 2023.

Ngannou is yet to compete in Mixed Martial Arts in over two years, with his last fight dating back to January 2022 when he overcame Ciryl Gane to defend his former UFC heavyweight title.
