Nigerians are buzzing after the Super Eagles defeated Ivory Coast 1-0 in a Group A match at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
William Troost-Ekong’s strike from the penalty spot sealed Nigeria’s first win in the competition and boosted their chances of qualifying for the knockout stage.
Jose Peseiro’s side are now second in Group A, level on four points with leaders Guinea-Bissau ahead of the encounter between both teams on Monday, January 22.
The victory feeling has left Nigerians on cloud nine after their first competitive win since their 6-0 thrashing of Sao Tome and Principe in September.
