Two-time African Footballer of the Year, Sadio Mane has been summoned by Aliou Cisse as Senegal aim to defend their title at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 27-man list that was announced on Friday also includes five injured players – Everton’s Idrissa Gueye, Nampalys Mendy, Boulaye Dia, Seny Dieng and Youssouph Sabaly who have been out of action at their respective clubs in recent weeks.
Regular players including captain Kalidou Koulibaly, Al Ahli goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, Nottingham Forest midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate and Marseille forward Ismaila Sarr made the selection.
Senegal will begin their preparation for AFCON 2023 in Dakar where they will play Niger on January 7 before departing for the tournament proper in the Ivory Coast.
The Teranga Lions are housed in Group C against Cameroon, Guinea, the Gambia.
