EFL Cup: Marco Silva hails Iwobi’s quality in Fulham victory

”Napoli did not intend to hurt Osimhen’ – Coach Garcia speaks out

Fulham manager Marco Silva has praised Alex Iwobi as a “quality” player after his performance in the Cottagers’ 2-1 victory over Norwich City in the third round of the EFL Cup on Wednesday night.

The Nigeria international found the back of the net for the first time in the white shirt since his summer transfer from Everton while Carlos Vinicius was the other player to register his name on the scoresheet.

Silva worked previously with Iwobi while he was manager at Everton and is confident the 27-year-old will be an integral part of the team at Craven Cottage.

“As you know, he’s a player that I know really well,” Silva told the club website. “I was responsible for him signing for Everton as well.

“A player that I know what he can do for ourselves in many different positions on the pitch.

“He has quality, he’s dynamic, and his energy, as well, means he’s going to be another important player for us.”

Fulham will tavel to Portman Road to tackle Ipswich Town in the EFL Cup fourth round on November 1.
