Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki is leading support for Bendel Insurance’s CAF Confederation Cup fixture against RS Berkane on Sunday.
Governor Obaseki, through the Chairman of Edo state Sports Commission – Yusuf Alli, declared that there will be free rides and tickets for residents of the state at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
Alli alongside Chief Press Secretary to Edo State governor, Mr Andrew Okungbowa briefed the press on the government’s preparations for the crucial game against former Confederation Cup champions.
“Tomorrow match is crucial. we enjoyed the massive support from the people and government and we succeeded in the first round,” he said.
“Nobody gave us the chance against the North African opponents. Kudos to the coaching crew of Bendel Insurance FC led by Monday Odigie. In tomorrow’s match,we appeal to Edo people to give us that kind of massive support again.
“The ECTS boss Mrs Hauwa Dupe Ohikhuare has given us assurance of the free ride Edo state government has offered. There will be road show to create more awareness. Fifteen thousand tickets available for free. So,we invite everybody, young and old to come and cheer Bendel Insurance to victory.”
Governor Obaseki is expected to be present in the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium to cheer on Monday Odigie’s team as they eye a place in the Confederation Cup group stage.
