2026 World Cup Qualifiers: Nigeria, Senegal, Algeria & Egypt know group opponents

Nigeria have been drawn against South Africa, Benin, Zimbabwe, Rwanda and Lesotho in Group C of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The road to the Mundial in the United States of America, Canada and Mexico will start on November 13 with the first matchday and will run till November 2025 for the final of the play-offs between the best runners-up from the groups.

54 countries that are members of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) have been pitched into nine groups (Group A-I) of six teams and leaders of each group will qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

Thursday’s draw in the Ivorian city of Abidjan reunites Benin coach Gernot Rohr with the Super Eagles after he coached Nigeria from 2018 to 2022.

Full Groups below:

Group A: Egypt, Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia and Djibouti.

Group B:  Senegal, DR Congo, Mauritania, Togo, Sudan and South Sudan.

Group C: Nigeria, South Africa, Benin, Zimbabwe, Rwanda and Lesotho.

Group D: Cameroon, Cape Verde, Angola, Libya, Eswatini and Mauritius

Group E: Morocco,  Zambia, Congo, Tanzania, Niger and Eritrea.

Group F: Ivory Coast, Gabon, Kenya, Gambia, Burundi and Seychelles.

Group G: Algeria, Guinea, Uganda, Mozambique, Botswana and Somalia.

Group H: Tunisia, Equatorial Guinea, Namibia, Malawi, Liberia and Sao Tome & Principe.

Group I: Mali, Ghana, Madagascar, Central African Republic, Comoros and Chad.
