FIFA has placed an embargo on Saudi Pro League Club, Al-Nassr which prevents them from registering new players for stalling on the payment of add-ons for their purchase of Veteran Nigerian Forward, Ahmed Musa from Leicester City.
An official ruling released from FIFA in October 2021 claims that the Saudi side has failed to pay €460k (£390k) plus interest in performance-related add-ons to the now relegated side.
The ruling also affirms that Al-Nassr will not be allowed to register new players until the payment is completed. This restriction applies to both domestic and international transfers, meaning star players from abroad cannot currently be registered. Due to this development, their latest signing from Inter Milan, Marcelo Brozovic will not be registered to feature in the division as things stand.
The ban is expected to last for three consecutive transfer windows, but the Public Investment Fund (PIF) has reiterated that they would be ready to pay the fee in order to lift the ban.
Musa joined the Foxes following their title-winning exploits in the 2015/16 Premier League season but his time with the Foxes left much to be desired as he returned just five goals in 33 appearances before returning to CSKA Moscow on loan.
The Super Eagles skipper was sold to Al-Nassr in the summer of 2018 for a fee believed to be in the region of £14m and featured 60 times, during which he won the league.
