Bolton Wanderers have re-signed Dan Nlundulu from Southampton on a three-year deal as his contract with the Saints expires at the end of June.
The 24-year-old of Congolese descent spent time at the University of Bolton Stadium during the second half of the 2022-23 League One season, making 15 regular season appearances and scoring once.
Nlundulu also played in Bolton’s play-off semi-final against Barnsley last season which they lost 2-1 on aggregate and says he has “unfinished business” with the Trotters as they hope to gain promotion to the Championship next season.
“I enjoyed my loan spell and I feel at home here,” Nlundulu said the club website.
“We initially had the conversation in the January transfer window and there was only one place I wanted to go and that was here. I’m happy that it is all done now.
“I feel like there is unfinished business here and there is healthy competition within the squad, so we all need to work together to get the club where it needs to be.
“I’m excited to get a full pre-season under my belt and I can’t wait to get started now.”

Nlundulu spent the first half of the 2022-23 season at Cheltenham Town, scoring six goals and providing three assists in 31 games before moving to Bolton.
He was associated with the Southampton for 10 years, starting from the club’s youth ranks. He graduated to the first team in 2020 and made a total of 16 appearances.
