U20 World Cup: Nigeria know how to stop South Korea – Bosso

U20 World Cup: Italy vs Nigeria – All you need to know and how to watch

Nigeria U20 head coach, Ladan Bosso said they have been watching South Korea’s games at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina and they are aware of how to face their quarter-final opponents on Sunday.

The Flying Eagles landed in Santiago del Estero on Friday and they are geared up to overcome the Koreans’ hurdle for a chance to make it into the semi-final stage for a fourth time.

Ladan Bosso’s boys stunned host country, Argentina with a win 2-0 in the round of 16 on Wednesday while South Korea defeated Ecuador in a five-goal thrilling match by 3-2.
Ahead of Sunday’s match, former El-Kanemi coach who led Nigeria to the U20 World Cup in 2007 said he is aware of Korea’s tactics and he urged his team not to lose concentration.
Bosso told NFF Media: “We are delighted to have executed a perfect game plan against Argentina. Our strategy and tactics worked out and the boys worked very hard. Now, we have to concentrate on what to expect from the Koreans.
“We have been watching their games at this championship and we have a good idea how to prepare for them.
“Again, the boys must work hard and carry out our plan on match day. We have the playing personnel to do the job and I am positive we will cross the Korean hurdle.”
During the 2007 edition of the U20 World Cup, Bosso’s team collapsed in the quarter-final to Chile in extra-time, but the 55-year-old is confident his current team will avoid the slip as they aim to better Nigeria’s achievement in the competition.
“It is a new day, a new championship, a new city and a new team,” he continued.
“Nigeria has been in the final of this same competition on two previous occasions. Our objective is to at least match that feat. Once we’re in the final, anything can happen.”
