Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has been named the best striker in Serie A for the 2022–23 season.
The 24-year-old fends off competition from Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez and Portuguese forward Rafael Leao of AC Milan to win the accolade.
Serie A made the announcement on their social media channel on Friday.

Osimhen has been sensational for Napoli all season long, leading them to their first Serie A title since the 1989–1990 season.
The Nigerian presently has 25 league goals, four more than Martinez’s 21, and is on course to win the Capocannoniere award as the highest goal scorer in the Italian top-flight.
The former Lille forward is also close to becoming the first African to win the award in Serie A after breaking George Weah’s record for the most goals scored by an African in the league.
