Iwobi makes honest admission in Everton draw

Alex Iwobi has admitted that Everton made costly errors in their 2-2 Premier League draw against Leicester City on Monday night.

The Toffees took the lead through Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s penalty before Jamie Vardy and Caglar Soyuncu responded to give the Foxes a 2-1 lead. James Maddison could have made it 3-1 but he missed from the penalty spot.

Iwobi stepped up to save Everton’s blushes when he levelled the game in the 54th minute with a low volley.

It was the Nigeria international’s second goal of the season after finding the back of the net in a 2-1 loss to Manchester United last October.

The result leaves Everton in 19th place on the table, one point shy of safety with four games left to wrap up the season.

“Errors made but the support stayed, appreciate the Love. We go again!,” Iwobi said in a Twitter post.

Iwobi has been ever-present for Everton this season, completing 90 minutes in all 34 games played so far, culminating in 3,022 minutes of action.
