Nigeria’s U-17 team, the Golden Eaglets will ramp up their preparations for the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations with a training camp that will be held in Germany.
The Nigeria Football Federation revealed that Nduka Ugbade’s boys will leave for the European country next week before they link Algeria for the U-17 AFCON.
The Golden Eaglets have played in nine friendlies thus far and have won eight and drawn once.
Ugbade recently expressed confidence in his team’s ability to perform excellently but also highlighted there is still work to be done.
“We know that some work still has to be done within the next few weeks to put the team in great form,” Ugbade said.
“I am happy with the level of work we have done and the kind of playing personnel at our disposal. I believe everything will come together beautifully and we will have a team that will do the country proud at the tournament.”
Nigeria have been drawn in Group B of the U-17 AFCON against Morocco, South Africa and Zambia and the tournament is set to hold between April 29 and May 19,2023.
