Saka wins Arsenal Goal of the Month award

Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka has won the club’s goal of the month award for January with his sensational strike in their 3-2 win over Manchester United.

The forward put Arsenal ahead in the 53rd minute at the Emirates Stadium against the Red Devils by smashing a ferocious left-footed strike into the bottom left corner from about 25 yards past David de Gea.

The 21-year-old topped the voting poll on the club website’s, fending off competition from club captain Martin Odegaard and Arsenal Women’s forward Michelle Agyemang.

 

Saka got 53 percent of the votes from fans to win the honour, while Agyemang came in second with 24 percent and Odegaard had 12 percent for his cool finish against their North London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur.

The Anglo-Nigerian has been in superb form for the Gunners this season, with eight goals and eight assists, including seven goals in 21 Premier League games.

Saka will be crucial for Mikel Arteta and his young team as they face Pep Guardiola and Manchester City, who are looking to overtake them and go top of the league.
